Plugillusion

A deceptive situation in which you believe your device is properly charging because it’s plugged in or appears connected, but in reality, the plug is loose, not inserted correctly, or the power source is inactive—leading to a completely uncharged device when you check it later.

Plug: an electrical connector inserted to provide power

Illusion: something that deceives the senses or mind by appearing to be real
